Wuhans capital city of Wuhang is now free of the virus, health officials said on Friday.
Wuhans health minister, Wang Lijiang, told the State Council that the city had been declared free of coronavirus on December 6.
The city has had no cases of EVD in the past five days, and has seen no new cases since.
“I have no doubts about the fact that the situation is good,” Wang said, as reported by state news agency Xinhua.
He also said that health authorities had taken precautions to keep the city free of any new cases.
The WHO and other international agencies are currently working to vaccinate as many as 100,000 people in Wuhangu, according to the government.
