Nipah fever is one of many viruses circulating in Ireland, where more than 1,000 people have died of the virus in the last month.
The Irish government has warned people not to get too carried away and urged people to remain vigilant.
“We are warning people to be careful and not to be too optimistic,” Health Minister Simon Harris said.
“The number of people with Nipahs infection is rising.”
It is not yet clear whether the virus is spreading by direct contact or via air travel.
